Creating One's Destiny

Cover Story...

The Japanese raise a tree. It’s called the bonsai tree. It’s beautiful and perfectly formed, although its height is measured in inches.

In California there is forest of “giant” trees called the Sequoias. Within this forest of giants, there is a tree called the General Sherman. It reaches into heaven over 272 ft. and has a circumference of 79 ft! If cut down, this tree would provide enough lumber for 35 five-room houses!

At one time the bonsai and the General Sherman were the same size. As seeds, both these trees weighed less than 1/3000 of an ounce. And yet the outcome is dramatically different! The morale of our story? Simple.

When the bonsai poked it’s head above the ground, it was pulled from the soil and had it’s tap and feeder roots tied, literally stunting its growth. Beautiful? Yes, but still a miniature... stunted!

When the seed of the General Sherman hit the rich California soil, it literally shot for the sky.

Now, neither the bonsai nor General Sherman had a choice in their destiny. You do! You can be as big or little as you wish to be.

The choice is yours. You can be a bonsai or a General Sherman. Your self-image—how you see yourself—will make all the difference.

Once again, the choice is yours!
